The job typically requires a site visit, application process with PG&E and a permit from the governing authority. Higher Voltage Install (208-480 volt)
Home and business equipment can be powered by a range of voltages from 120 volts to 240 volts through 480 volts(480 volts is typically only in businesses) and can be single or three phase. The voltage and phase at your location depends upon what is supplied by the utility company (PG&E). Most homes have a single phase 120-240 volt electrical service. This means they have the ability to have 120 volts and/or 240 volts for different applications. Businesses are not so general and can have varying power supplies so to know exactly what yours may have a site visit would be best.
Higher voltages are a more efficient way to operate heavy loads. Loads like heaters, air conditioners, welders, spas, ovens, ranges, cook tops, kilns or electric vehicles are typically 208-240 volts. Elect Electric has expertise in all of these voltages and can help you get the power you need safely where you need it.
